Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad

RGIA has successfully completed 22 days of commercial operations and its highlights / performance are given as under:
RGIA has handled around 4,40,000 passengers consisting of 66,000 international and 3,74,000 domestic passengers.
A total of 5679 ATMs (2839 landings and 2840 take offs) were handled.
In accordance to the approval of Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (Airport Operator) will be collecting User Development Fee (UDF) of Rs.1000 or USD 25 from each departing International Passenger with effect from 0001 hrs of 23rd April, 2008.
This charge will be collected as a part of the ticket issued by the Airlines/Travel agents etc. All the International departing passengers may kindly note that in case the UDF has not been collected by the Airlines then the same will be collected at the Airport before issue of boarding pass from 0001 hours on 23rd April onwards.
The transport arrangement from Airport to city and vice versa has received a very good response. As on date around 65,000 passengers have used the Aero Express and 50,000 passengers have used Radio Taxis.

GMR-HIAL is a joint venture company promoted by GMR Infrastructure Ltd., (63%); Malaysian Airports Holding Berhad (11%), Airports Authority of India (13%) and Government of Andhra Pradesh (13%), with a mandate to develop a world-class international grade airport spread over 5,500 acres in Shamshabad, about 25 kms from the main city of Hyderabad.
