| The airport has successfully completed 11 days of commercial operations and its highlights / performance are given as under: |

The airport has handled around 2,10,000 passengers consisting of 33,000 international and 1,77,000 domestic passengers. |

A total of 2700 ATMs (1350 landings and 1350 take offs) were handled. |

The ATF (Air Turbo Fuel) consumed on 1st April, 2008 was 1219 KL, which was highest since commencement of RGIA Commercial Operations. |

Kingfisher Airlines IT-801 from Hyderabad to Delhi took off at 6.25 a.m. with 90 passengers and 7 crew-members on board. After taking off, the captain advised ATC that he was receiving a smoke detection indication in the cargo hold of the aircraft and according to the standard airline procedure, requested to return to Hyderabad. The aircraft landed normally and taxied to a standard parking position where the passengers deplaned as usual. During the precautionary unloading of the cargo, an un-identified substance was located. This is being investigated by the airline and facilitated by the airport operator. |

About GHIAL
GMR-HIAL is a joint venture company promoted by GMR Infrastructure Ltd., (63%); Malaysian Airports Holding Berhad (11%), Airports Authority of India (13%) and Government of Andhra Pradesh (13%), with a mandate to develop a world-class international grade airport spread over 5,500 acres in Shamshabad, about 25 kms from the main city of Hyderabad.
The airport is being designed to handle 12 million passengers per annum with a total project cost of Rs. 2478 crore in the first phase scheduled to be commissioned in March 2008. This project - Rajiv Gandhi International Airport - is set to position Hyderabad as a prominent player in the global aviation map contributing to the prosperity, development and economic well-being of the region.
