GHIAL embarks on “Spirit of India” initiative to bring retailers from across India

Ethnic and contemporary range of products to promote brands with Indian feel
GHIAL has taken the initiative—appropriately named as “Spirit of India” -- to bring together retailers from across India with special focus on ethnic and contemporary products to promote the brands with Indian feel.

The products will range from handicrafts (tribal and regional), garments (ethnic and contemporary), jewellery (pearls, gems, gold, lac bangles), spiritual books, music and videos etc.

The brands which have joined hands with GMR to realize this concept are:

The Bombay Store – a century-old stores chain, who have taken the largest of spaces offered and are the key anchor to the concept. They sell products ranging from handicrafts, organic food (tea, coffee), home furnishing etc.

Monalisa pearls from the family of Jagdamba pearls, who have their presence not only in India but across the world. Even though their strength is pearls, their presence in Spirit of India is limited to Gold and contemporary jewellery, except pearls.

FABindia will be selling ethnic Indian garments as well as handmade jewellery (not gold), organic food ranging from jams, marmalades, tea coffee etc.

Krishna Pearls who have been awarded the exclusive rights to sell pearls and pearl based products, with wide range of collections.

TRIFED, who are into tribal handicrafts as part of a central government initiative, a one point source for all tribal handicrafts from across India.

Lepakshi, who are into typical Indian home décor and furnishings apart from other products like kalamkari paintings, bidri ware, banjara embroidery, kondapalli toys to name a few. They are an AP Tourism Development Corporation undertaking.

Neerus Ensembles Pvt. Ltd. who are into contemporary women’s garments with extensive and exclusive range of clothes.

Hyderbadi Bangles who are the pioneers in lac bangles and fashion jewellery which adds to the essence of Spirit of India, rather a good example of Spirit of Hyderabad.

Landmark Spiritual, who, deviating from core concept as a complete books/toys store, have agreed to create a new concept just for GHIAL by selling only Spiritual books, music and videos.

EMPOWER – by GMR Varalakshmi Foundation. GMRVF is the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of the GMR Group. In its mandate to develop social infrastructure and enhance the quality of life of communities this is the next step forward having ventured into setting up retail store Enabling Marketing of Products of Women Entrepreneurs. Products sold at ‘EMPOWER’ are directly sourced from women Self Help Groups (SHGs) from rural Andhra Pradesh, which includes etikoppa toys, kondapalli toys, kalamkari, Leather Puppets, etc.
