Rajiv Gandhi International Airport handles one million passengers in the first fifty days
Traffic increases by 13% over Begumpet

RGIA has crossed the milestone of handling one million passengers in the first fifty days of its commercial operations since March 23, 2008.
There has been an enormous increase in the air traffic movements (ATMs) as also the number of passengers by over 13% as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year at the Begumpet airport.
RGIA handled 248 (220 domestic + 28 International) flights a day in the first fifty days of its operations as compared to the Begumpet airport in the corresponding last year which was 218 (190 domestic & 28 international). The new airport has handled 30 additional domestic ATM's during the fifty days.
Mr. Viswanath Attaluri, Head – Commercial, Corporate Planning & Communications, GHIAL said “The airlines are able to get wide bodied aircrafts and getting better payloads both in terms of passengers and cargo.
He further added that, one very good and positive development in the first fifty days of our operations has been that not a single flight has been cancelled”.
